Indonesia, as a tropical country, has highly rainfall intensity in some region, but in others has landform hove, hill and mountain, with high potential landslide hazard. Landslide hazard could be anticipated with construction design and vegetation selection. Vegetative selection for prevention of landslide become one of important key to success in prevention of landslide hazard because it is long-term prevention. The most important factor in landslide are the slope and the ity, that is deep root. The method of this research uses spatial analysis, because the slope and the rainfall in some region are different each other. It used because the characteristics of it that coverage geographical information. Thus, the vegetation selection can be applied regionally. The root play an important role in holding soil layer, therefore the vegetation with multiple root will be more stronger in holding the soil. Finally, vegetation can be used for reducing landslide hazard, but it needs strategy in vegetation selection.en_US
