Abstract

The Green Revolution, while innovative in boosting rice production, faces criticism due to its reliance on chemical inputs and pesticides. To restore agricultural productivity sustainably, a shift towards environmentally friendly farming practices, such as organic agriculture, is essential. Banyuwangi Regency, notably, has emerged as a significant producer of organic rice. PT. Sirtanio Organik Indonesia, based in Desa Sumberbaru, Singojuruh District, Banyuwangi, stands out as a leading organic rice producer in Indonesia. The company is committed to meeting market demands sustainably and operates under a fully organic system, certified by LeSOS (Lembaga Sertifikasi Organik Seloliman). This study examines the company's background and its evolution from 2012 to 2022 using industrial sociology approach and modernization theory. Key findings include the role of geographical and economic factors in its establishment and the division of operations into cultivation, production, and marketing, which ensures effective management and market reach.
