Pengaruh Model PjBL dengan Pendekatan Engineering Design Process pada Pembelajaran IPA terhadap Keterampilan Berpikir Kritis Siswa SMP
Abstract
This research was motivated by the low critical thinking skills of students caused by the selection of inappropriate learning models. The aim of this research was to examine the influence and improvement of junior high school students' critical thinking skills by implementing the PjBL learning model with the EDP approach in science learning. The research was carried out at SMP Negeri 2 Maesan in the odd semester 2023/2024 with a population of all class VIII students. Sampling was carried out using purposive sampling as well as conducting observations and conducting interviews with science teachers. This research uses
a form of experimental research (Experimental Research) using quantitative methods using a quasi experimental control group design type. The research will be carried out at SMP Negeri 2 Maesan in the odd semester 2023/2024 with a population of all class VIII students. Data from the results of the research were obtained through research results from pretest and posttest scores after being given treatment that implemented the PjBL learning model that implemented the EDP approach in the experimental class group. Based on the hypothesis test carried out, a significance value of p<0,05 was obtained, which shows that there is a significant influence on students' critical thinking skills through the application of the PjBL model with the EDP approach. Based on the results of the n-gain test in the experimental group, the results were 0,63 in the medium category. Meanwhile, the control group obtained an n-gain of 0,28 in the low category. Based on the results of the two class groups, the n-gain results in the experimental group were higher compared to the control group. So based on these results, it shows that there has been an increase in students' critical thinking skills by implementing the PjBL learning model with the EDP approach.
