Literasi Agama dengan Perilaku Sosial Anggota Organisasi Pemuda Islam di Sumbersari Jember
Abstract
Religious literacy and social behavior are two things that cannot be
separated. Individuals who have religious literacy tend to shape their social
behavior. Faith-based organizations, such as the Islamic Youth Organization, play
an important role in improving religious literacy and shaping individual social
behavior amid increasingly complex social challenges. The existence of this
organization is not only to socialize religious knowledge, but also to internalize
religious values in daily life through a compulsory reading program that has been
prepared according to the level of its members. The phenomenon that occurs in the
Islamic Youth Organization is the existence of a diverse understanding of religious
literacy among the youth in the organization. In addition, there was a change in
positive behavior in several members of the Islamic Youth Organization after
participating in the coaching. So this study aims to find out the magnitude of the
relationship between religious literacy and the social behavior of members of the
Islamic Youth Organization in Sumbersari Jember. The research method used is a
correlational quantitative approach with data collection techniques using
questionnaires. Data analysis uses the Rank Spearman correlation test technique.
The results of this study are that there is a significant relationship between religious
literacy and social behavior of members of Islamic Youth Organizations. It is
proven from the acquisition of a sig value (2-tailed) of 0.001, which is smaller than
0.05. In addition, a correlation value of 0.653 shows that the relationship between
the two variables leads to positive and strong. Where the higher the level of
religious literacy a person, the better his social behavior will be. The conclusion of
this study is that religious literacy variables and social behavior variables each
have interrelated sub-sections/sub-variables, where religious literacy as a
controller helps in shaping positive social behavior.
