dc.description.abstractEnvironmental hygiene and health issues have always been a long-standing topic in society. One of them is waste, which is increasing in capacity everyday. One of the efforts to overcome the waste problem is to provide socialization, training, and education programs through waste processing activities in order to empower people who experience these problems. One of the manifestations and efforts in practice is carried out by the Sobung Sarka Community as the initiator and its practice is implemented through the Kompos-In program through an environmental education-based program for the community and Kompos-In members. The formulation of the problem in this study is how the process of community empowerment through organic waste management (Compost-In) in the Sobung Sarka Community, Jember Regency and the purpose of this study is to describe the process of awareness, capacity building, and empowerment in empowerment through waste management and the purpose of this research is to describe the process of awareness, capacity building, and empowerment in empowerment through waste processing in the Compost-In waste processing program carried out by the Sobung Sarka Community in Jember Regency. The results of this study are in the awareness stage carried out by Kompos-In members and Kompos-In coaches as empowering instructors by conducting socialization activities and open recruitment of Kompos-In members so that people are interested in joining Kompos-In and participating in Kompos-In activities. In the capacity building stage, the Kompos-In team held training based on education to the community regarding how to process organic waste through training held online and offline. At the empowerment stage, which is the final process in empowerment, the community and members of Compos-In are expected to be able to have the power to process and sort waste into products that have utility value, namely organic compost.en_US
