Shallots (Allium cepa L.) are horticultural plants that are widely cultivated by Indonesian people. The harvest area and production of shallots in Indonesia will decrease in 2022. Efforts have been made to increase shallot production by utilizing dry land, but this utilization is not yet optimal because it does not have good potential for plant cultivation. An alternative that can be done to increase shallot production in dry land is by selecting varieties. This research aims to determine the effect of soil moisture stress, type of variety, and the interaction between the two on the growth and yield of shallots. The experiment was carried out using a Completely Randomized Design (CRD) method with two factors, namely soil moisture content and variety type. Soil moisture content had a non- significantly different effect on plant height, number of leaves, tuber diameter, fresh weight of tubers, and number of tubers, while the type of variety had a very significant different effect on plant height and number of leaves. The Maserati variety treatment (V3) gave the best plant height of 39.2 cm and the best number of leaves of 5.9 pieces. The interaction of soil moisture content and variety type has a very significant different effect on the number of leaves. The combination of soil moisture content treatment of 75% field capacity and the Maserati variety (L2V3) gave the best number of leaves of 8.33 pieces. The productivity of the Sanren variety is 0.189 tons/ha, the Lokananta variety is 0.2 tons/ha, and the Maserati variety is 0.222 tons/ha.en_US
