    Abstract
ABSTRACT Background: head injury is a sudden blow or contact to the head, with or without loss of consciousness. Trauma to the scalp, skull, and brain are examples of head injuries. Oxygen is a life-giving gas that is delivered to cells in the body through the respiratory and circulatory systems. The position of a person's head approximately thirty degrees higher than the bed, with the torso parallel and the legs straight or unbent, is known as 30 degrees head up. In individuals with head trauma, a 30 degree head position is the best treatment. This is to help improve the patient's state of consciousness by facilitating oxygen circulation to the brain. Objective: This study was to evaluate the effect of providing oxygenation and a 30 degree head elevation position on increasing the consciousness of patients suffering from head injuries. Method: This research uses a literature review technique which includes a summary of ideas, results and research materials from various studies which are the basis for conducting a literature review. Google Scholar is used to find articles published between 2016 and 2020 that can be read in full text in pdf format. Results: Providing oxygenation and increasing the head position to 30 degrees has an effect on increasing consciousness in patients with head injuries, according to five journal articles that have been analyzed by the author. Conclusion: In head injury patients, oxygenation and elevation of 30 degrees have an effect on increasing consciousness as evidenced by changes in the patient's level of consciousness.
