Struktur Komunitas Capung (Odonata) di Kawasan Resort Pemangkuan Hutan Garahan, BKPH Sempolan, Perum Perhutani Kesatuan Pemangkuan Hutan Jember dan Pemanfaatannya sebagai Buku Ilmiah Populer
Abstract
Community is a collection of different populations in the same place and time. Dragonflies have a high diversity. There are around 900 species of dragonflies in Indonesia, with 150 of them found in Java. Dragonflies act as bioindicators of water quality and environmental pollution. This research was conducted in the forest area of RPH Garahan, BKPH Sempolan, KPH Jember in January 2023. The purpose of this study was to determine the types of dragonflies (Odonata) and dragonfly community structure (Odonata) in RPH Garahan. This type of research is an exploratory descriptive research with purposive sampling method. Sampling was conducted in Garahan forest area in pine habitat and natural forest habitat with road sampling method with sweeping technique. The results showed that 13 dragonfly species from 7 Odonata families were found, of which 2 were endemic species, namely Paragomphus reinwardtii and Heliocypha fenestrata. The measured community structure index includes diversity index (H') with a value of 1.653 which is included in the medium category; dominance index value (D) of 0.263 is in the low category; evenness index value (E) of 0.401 is included in the medium category; and species similarity index (SI) of 75% which is classified as high category. The most common species found were Vestalis luctuosa, Euphaea variegata, Orthetrum sabina, and Pantala flavescens.
