Pra Rancangan Pabrik Sodium Nitrat melalui Proses Sintesis dengan Kapasitas 25.000 Ton/Tahun
Abstract
The sodium nitrate plant was established to supply all domestic sodium nitrate
demands because there is no sodium nitrate plant operating in Indonesia. The
sodium nitrate plant from sodium carbonate and nitric acid is designed with a
production capacity of 25,000 tons/year. The plant is scheduled to operate in 2028
in the Krakatau Steel Industrial Estate in Cilegon City with a land area of 4.3
hectares. The process requires sodium carbonate as much as 2,010.5 kg/hour and
nitric acid as much as 2,377.9 kg/hour. Sodium nitrate is produced through a
synthesis process by reacting 53% sodium carbonate and 53% nitric acid in a
Continuous Stirred Tank Flow Reactor (CSTR) at 60°C and 1 atm pressure with a
reaction conversion of 98%. The reaction that occurs is exothermic so that the
reaction temperature is maintained at 60 ° C using a cooling jacket. The sodium
nitrate solution was concentrated to a concentration of 60% and then was formed
into crystals and separated from impurities. Crystals stored in storage are pure
sodium nitrate crystals with 98% content. Utilities supporting the process include
water demand of 125,527.36 kg/hour, steam demand of 5,768.5633 kg/hour, fuel
demand of 27538.610 kg/hour, and electricity demand of 364.62 kWh. The company
form is a Limited Liability Company (PT) with a line and staff organizational
structure. The number of factory employees is 154 people with a work system
categorized into shift and non-shift employees. Based on Economic Analysis, the
sodium nitrate plant is feasible to establish with consideration of various aspects
including Annual Cash Flow (ACF) of Rp237,297,512,349, Pay Out Time (POT)
for 3.49 years, and Break Event Point (BEP) of 45.83%.
