Malnutrition is still a severe concern in early childhood, especially among children aged 0 to 2 years. Children between the ages of 0 to 2 years are in a golden developmental stage. As a result, nutrition intake and balanced nutrition are required to meet their needs. The most common issue is a lack of understanding among women, particularly mothers, about the importance of nutrition and balanced nutrition in children, and how this information affects their consciousness. This study began with a malnutrition case in a child aged 0 to 2 years in Posyandu Post 92 Payangan Hamlet, Sumberejo Village, Jember. This particular example is related to the early childhood nutrition of mothers in coastal areas, including their knowledge, understanding, and attitude toward immunization, as well as providing exlusive breastfeeding (EBF) and infant diet menu (MP-ASI in Bahasa Indonesia). The purpose of this research is to describe women’s awareness of early childhood nutrition at Posyandu Post 92 in the coastal area. The qualitative descriptive method was used in this research, with data collected through observation interviews, and recording. In this study, extended involvement, persistence, and triangulation are used to assess the validity of data. Meanwhile, data collecting, data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drafting are used in data analysis. The study results suggest that women in the coastal area at Posyandu Post 92 have three levels of awareness to early childhood nutrition: spiritualistic, naive, and critical. Coastal women are thought to have spiritual awareness because they believe that the problem of children’s nutrients is a gift from God. They also believed in various superstition traditions concerning exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) and infant diet menu (MP-ASI). The responses received from coastal wome regarding providing nutrition to infants are still irrational, as they accept superstition despite being given facts about early childhood nutrition in Posyandu. In addition, some coastal women remain open-minded and tolerant of the new perspectives on immunization, exclusive breastfeeding (EBF) and MP-ASI.en_US
