Faktor yang Berhubungan dengan Pemberian ASI Eksklusif di Indonesia (Analisis Lanjut Data SDKI 2017)
Abstract
Background: Based on IDHS data, the proportion of exclusive breastfeeding coverage for children under 6 months has increased over the last 5 years. The results of the 2012 IDHS show that the coverage of exclusive breastfeeding for children under 6 months is 42% and increased to 52% in 2017. Breastfeeding in Indonesia is currently a problem that needs to be addressed because the coverage of breastfeeding in children aged 0-6 months in Indonesia in 2020 only 15,3% of 22,7 million people. This is because public awareness in encouraging increased breastfeeding is still relatively low.
Objectives: This study aims to analyze the factors associated with exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia.
Methods: The research used is analytic research with a cross-sectional approach. The subjects of this study were all women who gave birth within 2 years prior to the 2017 IDHS survey in Indonesia. The data analysis technique used was univariate and bivariate tests (chi square and logistic regression).
Results: The results showed that three thousand six hundred (54,25%) mothers in Indonesia had given exclusive breastfeeding. Chi square test and logistic regression for the variables age, occupation, education in the category of not completing basic education, prenatal care, place of delivery, husband's support during delivery and the role of health workers, the p value was > 0,05, which means that there is no significant relationship with exclusive breastfeeding. Meanwhile, for the education variable (completing basic education, not completing secondary education, graduating from secondary education, and tertiary education), as well as for the parity variable, the p value <0,05 means that there is a significant relationship with exclusive breastfeeding.
Conclusions: Factors related to exclusive breastfeeding in Indonesia are mother's education, in the category of completing basic education (OR=0,486), not completing secondary education (OR=0,519), graduating from secondary education (OR=0,419) and tertiary education (OR=0,391). , which means the higher the education level of the mother, the less likely she is to give exclusive breastfeeding. and mothers who have parity > 1 (one) (OR=1,499).
