The Effect on the Use of One Stay-Rest Stray Technique on the Tenth Grade Student's Reading Comprehension Achievement at SMAN 01 Kencong
Abstract
This study was condusted to investigate the effect of one stay rest stray technique on the tenth grade students reading comprehension achievement at SMA Negeri 1 Kencong. Based on preliminary study, it was known that the tenth grade students of SMA Negeri 1 Kencong had difficulty in learning English language, especially in reading. This study applied quantitative method, using quasi-experimental with post test only design. The two classes at SMA Negeri 1 Kencong were choosen as respondents for the this research, one belonged to the experimental group and the other class belonged to the control group. The experimental group was taught reading by using one stay rest stary technique and for the control group was taught by question and answer technique. The finding of this study showed that the experimetal group got higher men score ( 93.06 ) than for the conrol group ( 77.45 ). It could be concluded that one stay rest stary technique had a significant effecton senior high scholl students’ reading comprehension.
