dc.description.abstract | The expressive speech acts were often found during the teaching and learning of the subject of Bahasa Indonesia at SMPN 1 Rambipuji. The expressive speech acts used were verbally. This research aimed to describe the form of the teacher’s expressive speech acts to the students, the function of the teacher’s expressive speech acts to the students, and the students’ responses to the teacher’s expressive speech acts used in the teaching and learning of Bahasa Indonesia. This research used a qualitative research design with a descriptive type of research. The data collected were the students’ and the Bahasa Indonesia teacher’s form of speech segments, context, and students’ responses. The research results found that there were 9 forms of expressive speech acts used by the teacher, including expressive of confusion, annoyance, pity, pride, happiness, etc. All forms of the expressive speech acts were conveyed verbally supported by non-verbal acts in the form of oculistic, kinesic, and voice intonation. In this research, there found the 6 functions of expressive speech acts, namely the function of praising, thanking, criticizing, complaining, ect.T here were also 2 types of students’ responses, such as acceptance and verbal responses. The acceptance response is the form of the students' acceptance which can be seen from the attitude, while the verbal response can be observed from the speech form of the students’ responses to the teacher's expressive speech acts. This research is a qualitative study that reviews the use of expressive speech by the teacher in the process of teaching and learning of Bahasa Indonesia to gain the functions and responses from the students. This research is expected to be useful for the readers, especially college students, preservice teachers, and teachers. | en_US |
