Kemampuan Koneksi Matematis Siswa dalam Memecahkan Masalah pada Materi Perbandingan
Abstract
Mathematical connection ability is the ability to connect mathematical ideas in
solving problems in mathematics and problems with fields outside of mathematics
including daily life problems. Mathematical connection has an important role and
is closely related to problem solving. This research is a qualitative research that
aims to describe students mathematical connection ability in solving the problems
on comparison material. The research was conducted at SMP Plus Darus Sholah
Jember class VII A. The instruments used were mathematical connection test,
interview guideline, and validation sheet. The mathematical connection test
contains three questions that fulfill each aspect of mathematical connection.
Students' mathematical connection ability was categorized into three categories
namely high, medium and low. One subject was selected for each category to be
interviewed. Then method triangulation was carried out to check the validity of
the data that had been obtained by comparing the test method and interview
method. The results showed that subjects with high mathematical connection
ability could fulfill all aspects of mathematical connection. Subjects with medium
mathematical connection ability can fulfill the aspect of connection between
mathematics and the aspect of connection mathematics with daily life, but have
not been able to fulfill the aspect of connection mathematics with other subjects.
Subjects with low mathematical connection ability can fulfill the aspect of
connection between mathematics, but have not been able to fulfill the aspect of
connection mathematics with other subjects and aspect of connection mathematics
with daily life.
