Identifikasi Stomata dan Trikoma Daun Tanaman Komoditas Unggulan Pertanian Kabupaten Jember Serta Pemanfaatannya Sebagai E-Modul
Abstract
This study aims to examine the anatomical characteristics of the leaves from the leading agricultural commodity crops in the Jember Regency. The anatomical characters that were identified were stomata and trichomes, including the type, shape, and correlation of the structure with its function. This study is exploratory descriptive research that consists of several steps involved, starting from the preparation and then leaf sampling of 5 selected leading commodities, including leaves of Nicotiana tabacum, Glycine max. L. Merr., Abelmoschus esculentus, Theobroma cacao var Criollo, and Coffea canephora, which were taken from the agricultural land of PT. Mitratani Dua Tujuh, Puslitkoka, and PT. Tarutama Nusantara. The next step is observation through making replicate preparations using clear cuttings, followed by the process of identifying the characteristics of stomata and trichomes, where the data analysis is in the form of images of microscope observations. The identification results showed that the types of stomata varied, including anomocytic, anisocytic, and parasitic types. Meanwhile, the types of trichomes identified were dominated by the non-glandular type, while the glandular type was only found in tobacco leaves. In addition, there are also leaves where trichomes are not found, which are in Coffea canephora. The identification results of the stomata and trichomes on the leaves of the leading commodity crops in Jember Regency are then developed into learning media in the form of flipbook-based electronic modules, that can be used to support learning activities with a contextual approach at the grade XI high school level. Especially the study on the topic of plant tissue, which is considered difficult and requires microscopic observation skills, so that learning activities can be more meaningful and help the students better understand this topic.
