Implementasi Komik Digital Line Webtoon untuk Meningkatkan Keterampilan Penalaran Ilmiah (Scientific Reasoning) Siswa SMA Materi Momentum dan Impuls
Abstract
Scientific reasoning is an important skill that needs to be taught in science
learning in the 21st century to prepare students for the challenges of
globalization. However, students' scientific reasoning skills in Indonesia are still
low, as revealed in the 2018 PISA study. Therefore, a more interactive and
effective learning approach is needed. The purpose of this study is to analyze
students' scientific reasoning skills in momentum and impulse material and
describe students' responses to the implementation of LINE Webtoon digital
comics. This study used a pre-experimental research design with a one-group
pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of students of class X
MIPA 6 at SMA Negeri 1 Purwoharjo. Data were collected through pretest and
posttest tests, student response questionnaires, and interviews with students and
teachers. Data analysis was carried out using N-Gain to measure the
improvement of students' scientific reasoning skills and Likert scale to analyze
students' responses to the implementation of LINE Webtoon digital comics. The
results showed an increase in students' scientific reasoning skills after the
implementation of LINE Webtoon digital comics on momentum and impulse
material. The average student score increased from 44.72 in the pretest to 77.63
in the posttest. The percentage of improvement in students' scientific reasoning
skills was 60% with moderate criteria. The implementation of LINE Webtoon
digital comics is effective in improving students' scientific reasoning skills on
momentum and impulse materials. Students showed an increase in concept
understanding, critical thinking skills, and interest in the material through the use
of digital comics as learning media. Students' responses to the implementation of
LINE Webtoon digital comics were also positive, with the majority of students
showing good responses to the use of the media.
