Abstract
The Coleoptera order is one of the insects that have high and abundant diversity. One area that has the potential to diversity of Coleoptera is RPH Garahan, BKPH Sempolan, Perhutani Regency KPH Jember. The dominant vegetation in the Garahan RPH area is pine and coffee trees, as well as mixed forests, which is the preferred habitat for Coleoptera. The study lasted five months, from January to May 2023. From the 19th to the 30th of January 2023, RPH Garahan, BKPH Sempolan, and Perhutani Regency KPH Jember were sampled. The initial identification was done at the Jember University Zoology lab, while the final assistance and species validation was done in the BRIN Cibinong Zoology Laboratory in Bogor, Indonesia. The method used to determine the point was purposive sampling and the method used for sampling was Sweep Net, Beating tray, counting method and Hand Collecting. The study was carried out at 10 points with 3 repetitions using a plot. According to the research findings, there were 19 families and 66 species of the Coleoptera order detected in the Garahan RPH area, BKPH Sempolan, Perhutani Regency Jember. Coleoptera diversity index was high in the RPH Garahan area, BKPH Sempolan, Perhutani Regency KPH Jember, with H' = 3.032, while evenness index was 0.724 and dominance index was 0.1033385. Abiotic conditions in Garahan RPH area, BKPH Sempolan, Perhutani Regency Jember, namely wind speed 1 (m/s), air temperature 28°C, light intensity 6064 lux, soil pH 6, soil moisture 80%, air humidity 68%. The study product validation test findings in a handbook have an average value of 87 in a very good category. Based on explanation above, the Coleoptera recommendation book that was created can be published as a reading book, particularly for high school students. The Picture Insect app is great for learning about many sorts of insects, specifically beetles and Coleoptera. The results are only valid up to the family stage; further validation is required to determine up to the species level. The application is relatively simple to use, so users, particularly students, can use it as long as there is internet access. Furthermore, this program is free, not charged, and can assist children, especially for high school students in learning about insects, particularly beetles or Coleoptera.
