dc.description.abstract | Quality of life is a very broad concept that was affected by individual physical
condition, psychological, level of independence, as well as the individual's
relationship with the environment. This research aimed to determine differences
in the quality of life of the elderly who living at community and Social Services,
according to the physical, psychological, social, and environmental domain. This
research was analytically studies using cross sectional design. The number of
samples was 210 respondents, include 105 at community and 105 Social Services
in Jember which is chosen by multistage random sampling. Mann Whitney test
(alpha 0,05) was applied to analyze difference between quality of life of the
elderly living at community and Social Services. There were not significant
difference of quality of life among the elderly living at community and Social
Services in Jember (p=1.000). Also according to domain quality of life, the were
significant difference between physical, psychological, social, and environmental
domain of the elderly living at community and Social Services in Jember. Based
on this research, elderly who living at community needed for increase health
promotion through increase visiting and addition of elderly integrated service
post, also increasing the role of family support to visit elderly integrated service.
While the elderly who living at Social Services needed for the provision of
information and entertainment, as well as better modified activities, in order to
protect people from boredom. | en_US |
