Fenomena Dowry Murder di India dalam Perspektif Feminis Radikal Johan Galtung
Abstract
The dowry murder phenomenon is a long-standing phenomenon in India that has been going on for years. The settlement of the dowry murder problem is still the concern of the Indian government. The large number of reports of suicides and murders caused by dowry led the Indian government to issue a ban on dowry in 1961. One of the factors that led to dowry murders in India was the patriarchal system that had taken root in India which was inseparable from Indian society. In Indian society, they still think that women's groups have a degree below men's groups. Radical feminism views that the dowry murder that occurred in India is something that cannot be separated from India's patriarchal system and also the division of social classes in Indian society.
