    Abstract
Implementation of environmental sanitation is one form of effort that can be done to improve public health. However, until now the implementation of environmental sanitation is still not optimal, causing the potential for the emergence of infectious diseases, especially for toddlersThis literature study aims to study the problem of infectious diseases in children under five caused by poor environmental sanitation, so that countermeasures can be formulated. A total of 22 articles were selected based on inclusion criteria in the Google Scholar database with the keywords 'unsafe sanitation' OR 'poor sanitation' OR 'environmental sanitation' AND 'health problems'. Data analysis was carried out by synthesizing and comparing research variable data with empirical/theoretical support and presenting it through a narrative description.: Implementation of poor environmental sanitation can lead to potential for the emergence of infectious diseases, especially for toddlers such as diarrhea, ISPA, tuberculosis, and helminthiasis which can interfere with the absorption of nutrients in the toddler's body. This can have an impact on the occurrence of malnutrition such as the incidence of stunting in toddlers. The sanitation conditions that play a role in causing these infectious diseases include healthy latrines, SPAL, clean water supply, hand washing facilities, ventilation and lighting of the house, and waste disposal.: poor sanitation is closely related to the emergence of infectious diseases in infants which cause malnutrition. Therefore, optimizing the role of sanitarians in cross-sector collaboration and the use of Corporate Social Responsibility funding needs to be increased to overcome this case
