| dc.description.abstract | It has been believed for a long time, especially by Indonesian people, that Averrhoa Bilimbi leaves have medical efficacy. S. mutans are bacteria mostly found in plaque. The plaque on denture may cause inflammation in muccosal tissue under the denture namely denture stomatitis. The purposed experimental: This experimental purposed to know the differences of Averrhoa Bilimbi leaf extract efficacy as denture cleanser in concentration of 4%, 8%, 16% for 2 days, 10 days and 30 days on the transversal strength of acrylic resin. Method: The subjects of this research are heat-cured resin acrylic plates that immersed in Averrhoa Bilimbi leaf extract with concentration of 4%, 8%, 16% for 2 days, 10 days and 30 days. Each concentration contained of 8 samples, and in aquadest as control. To measure the transversal strength of acrylic resin, it was tested using Universal Testing Machine. The data were analyzed using one way ANOVA. The result: The result showed that there were significant differences (p< ,05). Then the data were analyzed using LSD test and it showed that there were significant differences on heat-cured resin acrylic plates immersed in Averrhoa Bilimbi leaf extract with concentration of 4%, 8%, 16% in transversa strength between concentration and soaking duration. The conclusion: The extract leaf of Averrhoa Bilimbi in 16% concentration with soaking duration 30 days will lower transversal strength of acrylic resin. | en_US |
