A Literature Review on Indonesia’s Deradicalization Program for Terrorist Prisoners
Abstract
After many terrorists are captured and receive prison sentences, Indonesia instituted a de-radicalization program for terrorist prisoners. As yet, however, Indonesia lacks a national policy for planning, implementing and evaluating the program. The program is currently being developed and managed locally by prison directors consistent with a prison's circumstances and capability. This article presents a review of the literature on Indonesia's de-radicalization program for terrorist prisoners. The objectives of this review are to understand the nature of the program, consider the results, and to indicate a new approach for future research.
