Dinoyo River is one of the tributaries merge into Rawatamtu Watershed. Its water quality has declined in
consequence of environmental changes in the form of land use and various human activities such as
settlements, agriculture, and industry. This study aims to determine the condition of Dinoyo River water
quality, calculate the pollution load, determine the carrying capacity of Dinoyo River, and provide
recommendations related to the water maintenance and utilization of the Dinoyo River. The condition of
water quality is based on PP. RI No. 82 Th. 2001 and the carrying capacity of the river used StreeterPhelps
mathematical methods. The results of the analysis based on PP. RI No. 82 Th. 2001, the water
quality of Dinoyo River is still at the standard point of class II. The maximum pollution load capacity of
Dinoyo River that can be accommodated up to ± 719 Kg / day. The carrying capacity of the Dinoyo River
takes 0 - 0.3 days for the degradation zone; 0.3 - 8.9 days for recovery zone; and > 8.9 days for clean
water zone. The recomended use of Dinoyo River is based on the criteria of the class II water quality
standard, while the maintenance effort is to raise public awareness of how to utilize river properly,
implementing eco-friendly agricultural systems and home industry activities should be given more
attention in order to maintain the water quality of Dinoyo river.
