    Abstract
    Results of numerical studies of a linear Faraday type MHD accelerator using Quasi-one dimensional computational methods is presented. A working gas of airplasma, consisting of diatomic molecules of nitrogen, oxygen and hydrogen, is considered in order to actualize application of the MHD accelerator propulsion system. In order to solve the set of differential equations of magnetohydro- dynamics, the MacCormack scheme is employed. Numerical results show the characteristics of push power, flow velocity, gas temperature and electrical conductivity of the MHD accelerator with changes for outlet wides. The best performance of wide channel outlet design computations are compared with numerical simulation results in past studies.   With this condition resulted 15,7 mm wide channel outlet made the best performance for propultion effect. Furthermore by increasing amount of magnetic field strength, push power output for 15,7 mm gives better value with up to 33,763.83 KW/m viii  2 , when around 1.0 – 2.5 Tesla. But the previous design channel work greatly better on supermagnet influence 3.0 – 4.0 Tesla, with push power up to 196,742 KW/m 2 .
