    Abstract
    1. Pemberian monosodium glutamat (MSG) berpengaruh nyata terhadap penyempitan panjang diameter mata lalat buah Drosophila melanogaster strain Bar tetapi berpengaruh tidak nyata terhadap penyempitan lebar diameter mata lalat buah Drosophila melanogaster strain Bar 2. Pemberian monosodium glutamat (MSG) yang dipanaskan memberikan pengaruh yang lebih besar terhadap penyempitan diameter mata lalat buah Drosophila melanogaster strain Bar daripada MSG tanpa pemanasan. 3. Semakin tinggi dosis mutagen yang diberikan pada perlakuan, maka semakin banyak kerusakan bahan genetik yang diwariskan pada keturunannya.
