ISTILAH-ISTILAH PERTANIAN PADI DAN PALAWIJA PADA MASYARAKAT MADURA DI KECAMATAN SUMBERMALANG KABUPATEN SITUBONDO (SUATU TINJAUAN ETNOLINGUISTIK) HOLTOCULTURAL TERMS RICE AND CRUPS OF MADURESE SOCIETY IN SUMBERMALANG SUB-DISTRICT SITUBONDO (AN ETHNOLINGUISTIC STUDY)

Abstract

This article discusses about the forms, the applying and the meaning of Madurese term for agricultures. This research is a descriptive qualitative research. The data obtained through interviews are completed by basic-triggered techniques. Advanced techniques applied are face to face technique continued by technical note. The data analysis using qulitative method is depicted by descriptive methods. The data are classified into several forms, they are: nouns, verbs, adjectives and phrases. The data such as noun form consist of basic noun, derivative nouns, noun of place, and quantitative & classifier nouns. The data in the form of verb consists of origin verb and derived verb. Based on the presence or absence of modifying noun, the data in the verb form consists of transitive verb and intransitive verbs, while verb based on its meaning, the data in the form of verb consists of causative verb. Semantically, the data analyzed have meaning term such as special meaning, descriptive meaning and referential meaning. Based on its usage, the research results entholinguistic term forms which can only be understood by the culture owner and the language users.
