KADAR KALSIUM GIGI PADA MENCIT YANG MENGKONSUMSI SUSU
Abstract
There is a theory revealing that calcium diet given in the period of post
eruptive tooth is not influential to the tooth. In opposite, it is said that calcium diet
can increase tooth calcium degree. Besides, at present many advertisements of the
product, especially milk, which contain calcium explain that it can make the teeth
stronger. Both of these statements result a question whether there is an influence of
the given calcium toward the calcium degree of the post eruptive tooth.
This research was a laboratory experiment using simple random sampling and
the objects to inquire are 24 white male mice (Mus muscullus), which are devided
into three groups treated in different ways. The first group is a controlling group
given vetma diet and water. The second group given vetma diet and milk. The third
group given vetma diet and water containing CaCO3. Measuring of calcium degree
use flame fotometre. The data was analyse by anova.
The result of experiment showed that giving added calcium from milk, which
was consumed in period of post eruptive tooth, was not influential in increasing the
calcium degree of the tooth. Therefore, it is advisable to review the advertisement
published by milk producer that reveal consuming milk in post eruptive tooth make
tooth stronger.
