PENGARUH PEER EDUCATION TERHADAP SIKAP MANAJEMEN HIGIENE MENSTRUASI PADA SANTRIWATI REMAJA AWAL DI PONDOK PESANTREN AL-QODIRI KABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
Menstruation hygiene management was someone’s closed respond, sight,
or feeling which is followed with tendency to act suitably with basic attitude of
cleanliness management during menstruation. Most of the woman students in
Islamic boarding school have positif attitudes in menstruation hygiene
managemen, even the healthy problem which related hygiene genital organs have
become primary complaint. This research is aimed to find out the effect of peer
education in attitudes of menstruation hygiene management. This research was
experiment research, using pre experiment with pre post group design. The
participants were early adolescent woman student with range 12 until 15 years in
age from Al-Qodiri tradisional Islamic school in Jember Regency. It was started
from july until august 2011. This research use purposive sampling with 32
choosen woman student involved as samples. Wilcoxon Signed Rank Test was
used for data analysis. The Research results that there was increasing number in
positive attitudes from the participant. with only 60,0% (18 people) in positive
attitude before implementation of peer education, in the end 86,7% (26 people)
was found in positive attitudes. With p value = 0,005 was less than < α (0,05).
The conclusion of this research state that there was a significant effect based on
peer education for attitudes menstruation hygiene management. Implementation
of peer education method is highly recommended in study of health in peer group.
