PENGARUH PENDIDIKAN KESEHATAN PERAWATAN KAKI TERHADAP KEPATUHAN PASIEN DIABETES MELLITUS TIPE 2 DALAM MELAKUKAN PERAWATAN KAKI DI WILAYAH KERJA PUSKESMAS JENGGAWAH KABUPATEN JEMBER
Abstract
Diabetes mellitus type 2 is a chronic disease which is caused by a decrease in the
amount of insulin or the insulin resistance that cause hyperglycemia. Diabetes
mellitus can lead some complications, such as macrovascular disease,
microvaskular disease, neuropathy and foot ulcers. The compliance of patients
with diabetes mellitus type 2 treatment helps prevent foot ulcers and amputation
of lower limbs. Health education of foot care can be used as a way to improve the
compliance of diabetes mellitus type 2 patients in the foot care treatments. The
aim of this research was to analyze the influence of health education of foot care
to the compliance of diabetes mellitus type 2 patients in performing foot care in
the working area of Jenggawah Community Health Center in Jember Regency.
The type of research design used was pre experimenental with one group pretest
and post test design. The population of the research were 54 respondents with 30
repondents as sample. The sampling technique used probability sampling with
proportional random sampling. The data was analyzed by using wilcoxon signed
rank test with 95% CI. The result showed that the value of p was 0,001 (p<0,05)
so it can be concluded that there was an influence of health education on the
complience of diabetes mellitus type 2 patient in performing foot care.
Suggestions from this research, health workers are expected to carry out the role
as educators to provide health education of foot care to the patients with diabtes
diabetes mellitus type 2. Families are expected to give support to the patients with
foot treatment.
