PENGARUH DUKUNGAN SOSIAL TERHADAP PEMILIHAN METODE KONTRASEPSI INTRA UTERINE DEVICE (IUD) PADA PESERTA KB BARU (Studi di Kelurahan Tegal Besar Kecamatan Kaliwates Kabupaten Jember)

Abstract

The main problem that is faced by Indonesia is population aspect. One of the KB strategies which is contained in RPJM 2004-2009 is the increasing of the use of longterm

contraceptive method (LTM) like IUD. IUD is one type of non-hormonal contraceptives and include long-term contraception that is ideal to give space of pragnant. The achivement of KB participants in Kaliwates Sub-District for 3 years is high and Tegal Besar is one of the villages that has the highest achievement. The achievement of KB participants cannot be separated from social support in the success of the program, support came from her husband, a formal community leaders, non-formal community leaders and cadres Sub PPKBD. This study aimed to analyze the influence of spouse support, formal community leaders, non-formal community leaders and cadres of sub PPKBD toward the selection of IUD contraceptive method to the new KB participants. This research with a cross sectional study in Tegal Besar village Kaliwates sub district. Data collection method used questionnaires to 85 respondents and the data were tested using logistic regression analysis. The results showed that social support that influence the selection of IUD contraceptive method, husband has big effect (p = 0.002), formal public figures has low effect (p = 0.015), non-formal community leaders has big effect (p = 0.006), a cadre of sub PPKBD has big effect (p = 0.001). BPPKB should provide training for PPKBD to do KIE to husbands participants ,community leaders regarding the formal and non formal IUD.
