DETERMINAN RENDAHNYA PARTISIPASI IBU BERBALITA DALAM PEMANFAATAN POSYANDU (Studi di Kelurahan Tegal Besar Kecamatan Kaliwates Kabupaten Jember)

Abstract

Posyandu is basic medical service properties fused to keep and improve welfare society, particularly the health of mother, infant and under five years. The research aims to identify the influence of mother knowledge, mother attitude, facilities and infrastructure of Posyandu, Posyandu’s cadre role and family support to the under five years’s mother low participation in Posyandu Utilization. This study used analytic research method using cross sectional design. It was conducted in June-July 2011 in Tegal Besar, Kaliwates subdistrict, Jember regency. The research samples were 97 under five years’s mother selected by proportional stratified random sampling technique. The data analyzed by logistic regression test with signification level 5%. The result showed that there is a influence between knowledge of Posyandu (p=0.026) under five years’s mother attitude (p=0.002), Posyandu’s cadre role (p=0.038), and family support (p=0.017) to the under five years’s mother low participation in Posyandu Utilization. There is no influence between facilities and infrastructure of Posyandu (p=0.080) to the under five years’s mother low participation in Posyandu Utilization. According to the result, Posyandu’s cadre should further improve their performance, especially in the activities of home visits. Health Service and Puskesmas need to do socialization or counseling about importance of integrated health in order to increase participation of Posyandu utilization to Under five years’s mother and family because family support has a strong influence on health behavior change.
