Abstract: Reading is one of the four language skills that should be mastered in learning besides listening, speaking, and writing. Nunan (2004: 68) states that reading is a fluent process of readers in combining information from a text and their own background knowledge to build meaning. Building meaning itself is called comprehending text. Comprehending text is sometimes difficult to be achieved especially when readers are dealing with new vocabularies and structures which they do not master yet. Concerning with the previous statements, it was found that the students of XI Science 3 grade in Rambipuji senior high school had difficulties in finding the main idea of the paragraphs and also specific information from a text.It was also found that they were lack of vocabulary and bored in the classroom because of the technique implemented by the teacher did not attract the students’ interest.
