Abstract: The development of palace in Java has taken place for centuries. Many accounts on palace and their architectural forms and and has been produced since the Javanese developing civilization. Geomatric patterns found among the Indonesian indigenous societies are still in existent in areas stretching from Sabang to Merauke. In the following development, elements from various parts of the world affecting forms and ornaments of the Javanese palace. The primacy of teak as an export product from Java has long characterized Javanese building from ancient to contemporary times. This can be traced from various ancient buildings such as Borobudur temple and relief of palace ornaments. The palace of Y ogyakarta sultanate constitutes a form of palace building that survives until recently with philosophical values.
