Proteus mirabilis is opportunistic and nosocomial pathogen that usually found in clinical specimen from patient with cateter. The pathogenic mechanism of this bacteria are not fully elucidated especially potential activity of its protein as hemaglutinin and adhesion molecule. The aim of these study was to evaluate the role of20 kDafimbria protein from P. mirabilis. After identification bacteria isolation offimbriafraction 12,5 % SDS-PAGE had been used to isolatedfim- bria protein, following hemaglutinin test and in vitro adhesion test. The result showed that the 20 kDa fimbria protein of P mirabilis was a hemaglutinin pro- tein that could agglutinate mice erythrocytes and rabbit erythrocytes . The 20 kDa pili protein was also adhesion protein that had been revealed by its activity to adherence to receptor rabbit vesica urinaria epithelium. The increased dose of 20 kDa pili protein will decrease the mount of P mirabilis bacteria to ad her ence to rabbit vesica urinaria epithelium (p< 0,05 ).en_US
