dc.description.abstract | The study aims to determine the effect of explant types and combinations of plant growth regulators for callus induction and shoots on fi ve varieties of tomatoes. Research using stem explants, cotyledon and hipokotil of fi ve varieties of tomatoes (Emerald, Diamond, Rachael, Gems and Pendant) cultured on MS medium with combinations of concentrations of different growth regulators namely M1 (MS + IAA 0.2 ppm + 2 ppm BAP), M2 (MS + 0.5 ppm IAA + 2 ppm BAP) and M3 (MS + 1 ppm IAA + 2 ppm BAP). The results showed that the callus formed after 8-10 days, while the shoots after 18-24 days. Cotyledon explants cultured on media M1 (MS + IAA 0.2 ppm + 2 ppm BAP) produced the highest percentage of regeneration frequency (80%). Of the fi ve varieties of tomatoes are used, Emerald varieties produce more shoots (4.80) followed by varieties Pendant (3.80) Ratna (3.27), Jewel (3.30) and Diamond (3.17). | en_US |
