dc.description.abstract | This concise paper elaborates a certain consideration relacted toa a current situation of education in Indonesia. The quality of education in our country is relatively low compared to that of other countries like Malaysia, Singapore, and Australia. Teachers and lectures are encouraged to profesional when doing learning and teaching process. This is because; teachers and lecturers are of extremely important in that process. Even, if a very high technology is applied, the learning and teaching process will never be meaningful without them. Professional teachers/lecturers mush have three things simultaneously; expertise, commitment and skill. Beside, contextual teaching and learning (CTL) must be carried out to make students see meaning in the academic material they are studying by connecting the subjects with their dealy lives. By doing so, it is expected that the learning and teaching process could be better. Finally professional teachers and CTL are two things which cannot be separated when the academic atmosphere is very much concerned. | en_US |
