Prevalensi Buta Warna pada Siswa Sekolah Menengah Atas Negeri di Kabupaten Sampang-Madura

Abstract

Color blindness is a condition that causes the lack of ability of stem cells in the eye to perceive a certain range of colors. Color blindness occurs because there is a recessive allele c (color blind) that is attached to the X chromosome. The purpose of this study is so that State High School students in Sampang City can find out the condition of color vision early and can help these students in choosing a career or major. The sample used was 209 people , consisting of 77 men and 132 women. The test carried out was using the Ishihara 24 plate test. An analysis of the prevalence of color blindness, allele frequency, and trait inheritance patterns was carried out. The results of the prevalence value obtained were 3.35% , with deutanopia color blindness of 2.87% and protanopia of 0.49%. The prevalence value of color blindness in males was 6.49% and 1.52% in females. The frequency of color blindness alleles of high school students in Sampang City was obtained as much as 0.029 and the frequency of normal alleles was obtained as much as 0.971. The results of the pedigree diagram diagnosis were obtained that male probandus acquired the color blindness gene from the mother and female probandus obtained the color blindness gene from the color blind father and carrier mother.
