The development phases of robusta coffee plantations with agroforestry systems have different ecosystem characteristics (biotic and abiotic) which influence the dynamics of the insect community composition within them. The Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute (Puslitkoka) Kaliwining, Jember is one of the coffee producers with an agroforestry system that combines coffee plants with lamtoro plants. It is important to know the structure of the insect community in coffee agroforestry plantations as a reference in determining insect pest control measures to be taken. The aim of this research is to study the insect community structure (composition, abundance and diversity) at the Puslitkoka Kaliwining robusta coffee plantation, Jember. Insect sampling was carried out in mature plantations (TM) and immature plantations (TBM) at the Kaliwining Robusta Coffee Experimental Plantation, Indonesian Coffee and Cocoa Research Institute, Jember, East Java using road sampling and pitfall trap methods. Data analysis was carried out by calculating the Shannon-Wienner diversity index (H') to determine insect diversity. The results showed that the composition and abundance of insects in TM plantations was higher than in TBM plantations. The number of insects found in the TM plantations was 834 individuals which belong to 8 orders and 26 families. The number of insects found in the TBM plantations was 386 individuals which belong to of 9 orders and 20 families. The highest abundance of insect families in the two research locations were the Formicidae and Gryllidae. The insect diversity index value in the TM plantations is 3.112, which is considered high, while the TBM plantations is 2.030, which is considered mediumen_US
