Abstract: Diabetes Mellitus (DM) can result in negative psychological responses such as stress, anxiety, and depression which can affect the patient's motivation to perform self-care. Low motivation will have an impact on the patient's self-efficacy. Spirituality can help manage the negative feelings that arise. This study aimed to analyze the correlation between spirituality and self-efficacy in type 2 DM patients. This study used a correlational analytic design with a cross-sectional approach. A total of 84 respondents were obtained in the study by using the cluster random sampling technique. Data were collected using the Spiritual Well-Being Scale (SWBS) and Diabetes Management Self-Efficacy Scale (DMSES) questionnaires and analyzed by Pearson with a significant level of 0.05. The results showed that the median score for spirituality was 90 (min max=73-114), and the mean of efficacy was 61.32 (SD=9.734). There is a significant positive correlation between spirituality and self-efficacy in type 2 diabetes mellitus patients (p=0.021 and r=0.251). The higher the spirituality, the better the self-efficacy. Nurses should provide holistic nursing care, including spiritual aspects, to increase the self-efficacy of type 2 DM patients.
