Abstract: Mangosteen rind (Garcinia mangostana L.) is one of the natural ingredients that can be used as an alternative ingredient in the medical field. The mangosteen rind consists of the outer (hard) skin and the inside (soft) which contains antibacterial compounds such as xanton, flavonoids, tannins, and anthocyanins. The aim of the study was to determine the antibacterial efficiency of mangosteen soft rind (Garcinia mangostana L.) and a combination of mangosteen fruit hard-soft skin extract (Garcinia mangostana L.) in inhibiting the growth of Lactobacillus achidopillus bacteria.
