dc.description.abstract | Chronic Respiratory Disease (CRD) is caused by the Mycoplasma gallisepticum bacteria that infects the respiratory tract in poultry such as chickens, ducks, geese, muscovy duck, turkeys, pigeons, and others. The occurrence of CRD is still found in all parts of Indonesia which causes losses to farmers. The purpose of writing a review of this disease is to provide information about CRD so that it can overcome the incidence of the in farms. The method used in compiling this review is in the form of a literature study. Based on the study results, it is known that the factors can exacerbate the infection of this disease are the age of livestock, sex, stress, and the environment. This bacterial infection is more susceptible in young chickens and roosters compared with adult chickens and hen. Clinical symptoms are the sound of snoring in at night, catarrhal discharge from the nasal cavity, coughing, inflammation of the conjunctiva, and sneezing. The period of CRD ranges 4 - 21 days and is easily transmitted. Laboratory for identify the Mycoplasma gallispeticum in a farm by serological tests such as Hemaglutination Inhibition Test (HI), Rapid Serum Aglutination Test (RSA), and Enzyme Linked Immuno Sorbent Assay (ELISA). Knowing about the importance of biosecurity programs that should be applied consistently, as well as enhancing the immunity such as vaccination and the use safe antimicrobials, need to be conveyed to the public as an effort for prevention and treating CRD. | en_US |
