Abstract: Rice bran comes from rice waste which has many benefits, one of which is good for obesity because it contains lot of fiber and antioxidant gamma orizanol. This research have a purpose to show the effects of rice bran drink on LDL and HDL concentrations of obese students. The number of samples needed was 60 obese elementary students in six elementary schools in Makassar, while the dose given was 30 g per day. Nonequivalent Control Group Design is the research design used. Based on the results of the study, energy intake in the intervention group (p = 0.256) and control (p = 0.061) increased even though only the control group was significant. Consumption of fiber, carbohydrates and fat showed insignificant increases for both groups. LDL levels decreased significantly for the intervention group (p = 0.000) and control (p = 0.021). HDL levels in the intervention group (p = 0.014) increased significantly and the control group (p = 0.102) decreased not significantly. From these results it can be concluded that the giving of rice bran drinks has an effect on increasing HDL concentrations and decreasing HDL concentrations in obese students. As a suggestion for further research is to provide variations in dosage of sample to get the right dose
