Abstract: | Important character education is embodied in learners. The unified thematic book is a book that has been integrated from several subjects. In elementary school, there are many attitudes to older people who are less respectful, bullying, cheating, etc. In the Book of IVth grade students there is one theme "various occupations" where the students are able to take positive values that will be applied in life. The purpose of this study is to know the content of character values in student books. This type of research uses descriptive research with qualitative design. Method of data collection using documentation methods and interviews with the book research object of the theme students "various occupations". The analysed values are religious value, honest, discipline, responsibility, courtesy, caring, confident, hard work, love of homeland, and tolerance. The frequency of the character value appears uneven. The content value of the character is scattered in two parts of the book, i.e. discourse and work instruction. The character values that appear the most are caring and hardworking values. |
