dc.description.abstractRoad safety is one of the efforts in reducing the number of accidents on the highway. In terms of transportation, especially highways, the potential for traffic accidents is very high. In 2018 cases of accidents that occurred in Pasuruan Regency reached 868 cases. That number increased 7% from 2017 which reached 809 accident cases (Detik News, January 1, 2019). Especially on the Nguling - Gempol Highway section in Pasuruan Regency which is a segment with a high accident-prone rate. On the Nguling - Gempol Highway section, there are roads with a median and no median. With the increasing number of accidents in Pasuruan Regency, comprehensive road safety factors must be considered in all aspects, namely the facilities and infrastructure aspects. Based on this problem, it is necessary to compare the characteristics of accidents on 4 / 2D and 4 / 2UD road types. Direct survey to the location to find out the existing condition and spotspeed of the vehicle and also accident data 5 years back to find out the accident rate on that section. This study reviewed 19 road segments, namely 11 segments with 4 / 2D road types and 8 road segments with 4 / 2UD types based on village boundaries on Jalan Raya Nguling - Gempol, Pasuruan Regency. Based on the results of the study, accident characteristics of 7 variables based on the type of road 4 / 2D and 4 / 2UD that have been tested by T were found that based on the type of road showed Sig (2-tailed) of 0.787 which means there were no significant differences, based on the severity of the shows Sig (2- tailed) died in the world at 0.925, seriously injured at 0.108 and minor injuries at 0.407 which means there is no significant difference, based on the value of EAN (weighting of accident numbers) shows Sig (2-tailed) died at 0.925, seriously injured of 0.108 and minor injuries of 0.407 which means there is no significant difference, based on the day of the accident shows Sig (2-tailed) Monday was 0.109, Tuesday was 0.883, Wednesday was 0.366, Thursday was 0.741, Friday was 0.622, Saturday was 0.015 and Saturday was 0.015 and Sunday was 0.015 of 0.055 which means that there are significant differences, namely on Saturdays, based on the type of vehicle indicated Sig (2-tailed) motor vehicles by 0.006, light vehicles by 0.318 and heavy vehicles by 0.052 which means that there are significant differences in motor vehicles, based on the time of the accident shows the Sig (2-tailed) in the morning by 0.509, day by 0.255 and night equal to 0.007 which means there is a significant difference that is at night and Based on the speed of the moment (spotspeed) shows Sig (2-tailed) of 0.178 which means there is no significant difference. From the results that have been obtained it can be concluded that the comparison of accident characteristics on the type of road 4 / 2D and 4 / 2UD on the Nguling - Gempol road section on the seven factors that cause the accident that has been tested shows that there are three factors causing the accident that there are differences significant, based on the type of vehicle, the time of accident and the day of the accident while the other variables have no significant difference.en_US
