dc.description.abstract | In this time, Brushless DC (BLDC) motor has been widely used as the driving electric
car. Besides being able to produce a large torque, this motor also has a high
efficiency. Although tehe efficiency already high, but an increase in the efficiency of
electrical energy that comes only from the batteries still need to be improved. One
such effort is to restore the energy wasted during braking to the battery. This system
is called regenerative braking. In this research, a system of the regenerative braking
was designed. The system designed based on the waveform of the BLDC motor output
voltage, which in 3 phase sinus. Therefore, the system consists of a 3 -phase rectifier
to rectify the voltage, the boost converter to increase the voltage, the controller that
compiled with Simulink MATLAB and an interface systems Peripheral Component
Interconect (PCI). The system is designed in 5 levels of braking that perform from
duty cycle of Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) rectifier. The results show that the
braking system that optimal charging battery occur at the level of braking on 4 and 5,
with an average charging current is 3.85 mA and the charging voltage is 13 V. The
test results also showed that in the higher of the braking level, the battery charging
current also higher. | en_US |
