dc.description.abstractDense Wavelenght Division Multiplexing (DWDM) network is one of the transport network which has bandwidth capacity up to 40 Gb. With large bandwidth capacity, it needs protection system that can back-up or control to transfer the network path if a path were damaged. Since 3 years ago PT. Indosat Jember has been using Sub Network Connection Protection (SNCP) protection system. But for the following years, the usage of SNCP protection system is no longer effective. Internet Engineering Task Force (IETF) develops Generalize Multi Protocol Label Switching (GMPLS) technology as a future technology that has many advantages especially the switching system that can be used as a protection system. This study aims to analyze the feasibility of GMPLS if applied to the PT. Indosat Jember's transmission network . Based on multiple connection capability, scalability, interoperability, and switching delay, GMPLS is feasible as PT. Indosat Jember's network protection systems.en_US
