dc.description.abstract | Breast cancer is a disease due to the abnormal division of body cells in the breast. Chemotherapy is one of the management of breast cancer that has an impact on the physical and psychological aspects. The psychological impact is depression. This study aims to analyze the description depression level of breast cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy at Rumah Sakit Tingkat III Baladhika Husada Jember. The variable in this study is the level of depression. This research is a quantitative research using descriptive analytic research design with cross sectional approach. A total of 82 respondents were obtained using non probability sampling technique by consecutive sampling. Data collection was conducted by giving Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI II) questionnaire. The results showed that normal/no depression 62 people (75.6%), mild depression 16 people (19.5%), and moderate depression 4 people (4.9%). Depression in breast cancer patients occurs due to side effects of chemotherapy, fatigue due to treatment that takes a long time, loss of social roles and thoughts about death. There needs to be further research on other factors can be related to the depression level of breast cancer patients. | en_US |
