dc.description.abstractPrimary hypertension is a chronic disease that requires self-care activities for patients throughout their life. Primary hypertension prevalence is the highest in middle age (45-59 years) in Jember Regency. Primary hypertension that not treated properly will lead to the risk of complications such as stroke and heart attack. Garuda Meditation is one of the complementary therapies that can be done to control blood pressure and reduced hypertension symptoms. This study used quasy experimental method and randomized with control group pretest postest. The population were 72 people and the samples were 62 respondents using simple random sampling. Analysis of the data using the Independent t-Test. The results showed that the p-value was 0.000 on the systolic, diastolic and symptoms of hypertension variable (<0,05), so that H0 was rejected. Study shows that there is an effect of Garuda Meditation on blood pressure and hypertension symptoms in the respondents. Suggestions from this study is Garuda Meditation can be used to middle aged hypertension patient to control their blood pressure in order to avoid the risk of hypertension complications.en_US
