dc.description.abstract | School-age children are children aged 6-12 years. Psychosocial development
according to Erikson in school age children aged 6-12 years is industry versus inferiority.
Confidence is influenced by family, school, peers, and community. The study aimed to
analyze the relationship between family communication pattern and self-confidence at
school-age children in public elementary school district 04 Wirolegi district Sumbersari
Jember. This research used an observational analytic design with cross sectional method.
The subjects of this study were school-age children which consisted of 99 respondents. The
instrument used a revised family communication patterns and KINDL’S questionnaire. The
analysis based on statistical spearman rank by using CI=95% showed p-value 0,013 (p
value<α=0.05). The result analysis, there was a correlation between family communication
pattern and self-confidence. Family communication patterns with confidence positively
correlated with the level of closeness weak. Children who get a chance functional
communication patterns have good self confidence. so expect the family, school, and friends
can perform functional communication patterns to improve self-esteem | en_US |
