Breast milk is the most important nutrient needed by newborns baby until the age of 6 months. One of the factors that influence the motivation of mothers in exclusive breastfeeding is the role of health workers. The aim of this study was to analyze the relationship between the role of health workers with the motivation of mothers in exclusive breastfeeding in the village Wonorejo Kencong District of Jember. This research uses a correlational descriptive design with cross sectional method. The subjects of this study are mothers to breastfeed baby under 7 month in the village Wonorejo Kencong District of Jember. The sampling technique is a sampling total with a sample of 83 respondents. The instrument used in this study was a questionnaire. Results showed that 23 respondents (27,7%) had high motivation in exclusive breastfeeding and perceived the role of health workers good. The analysis based on statistical chi-square by using CI=95% showed that p value=0,028 (p value<α=0,05). These results showed that there is a correlation between health worker’s role with mother’s motivation in exclusive breastfeeding. Health workers need to increase mother’s knowledge and motivation in giving exclusive breastfeeding, also to control the offering of formula milk to the breastfeeding mothers.en_US
